CONSTITUTION
OF THE
HILLSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH
SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI, INC
Preamble
Reposing our faith wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation, believing in the teachings and practices of New Testament Baptists, and in those great distinctive principles for which they stood, and accepting as a general summary of doctrine and duties a covenant and Articles of Faith contained herein; we there to bind ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, and adopt for our government and plan of worship and service the following articles. We hereby rescind all previous action there to.
CONSTITUTION
Article I - NAME
This non-profit organization, as registered with the Internal Revenue Service, shall be known as the Hillside Baptist Church.
Article II - Affiliation
We, the Hillside Baptist Church, shall be known as an independent, Bible-believing, self-governing, self-supporting fundamental Baptist Church, adopting articles of faith of the Baptist Bible Fellowship of Springfield, MO.
Article III - Purpose
The general purpose of this church shall be to conduct a soul winning, fundamental, Bible-believing, missionary, independent Baptist Church, and said church shall hold all its property in trust for said purpose and not otherwise; and at not time shall any society, Convention, District, or other body or organization have any voice or control in the management of the property of the Church or any part thereof.
This church using said properties shall at all times use the King James Version of the Holy Bible and its Bible textbook in Sunday School, Worship Services, and any other meetings. The said Church, Sunday School, and other functions of the church shall always accept and abide by the adopted articles of Faith and shall be missionary, both in teaching and practice, supporting missions both at home and abroad.
All present members of Hillside Baptist Church shall be members of said church and all members added hereafter in any manner that said church receives members shall be members of said church; however, no member of this church shall at any time have any vested right or interest whatsoever in the property of this church.
The term for which this church shall exist shall be perpetual.
Upon liquidation, dissolution, or abandonment of this church, its property of all kinds, assets, and the income there from shall not under any circumstances whatsoever, inure to the benefit of any private person or party, but shall be sold at fair market value, and the proceeds shall be donated together with all monies on hand to the missions program of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, Springfield, MO, after any existing indebtedness is settled.
The Church shall have authority to adopt and amend by-laws as necessary.
