Rev. John M. Bingham - Pastor
Rev. John Bingham, pastor of the Hillside Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri, was born in Ennis, Texas. He received his early schooling in Christian and Public Schools in Texas.
January 31, 1988 was a turning point in Pastor Bingham’s life. It was on that day that, as a child, he trusted Christ as his personal Saviour. His heart and passion for God are evident in his desire to introduce others to Christ and see them grow in their relationship with Him.
Sensing God's call to ministry, Pastor Bingham enrolled at the Baptist Bible College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry in 2005. While attending college, he served at Hillside Baptist as Junior’s Class teacher, Junior High Teacher, then the Youth and Music Director.
Pastor Bingham was called to be the Pastor of Hillside Baptist in December of 2018.
God has allowed Pastor Bingham to follow in the footsteps of other great pastors and be mentored by one of the best. He loves his church, and even through growth, Hillside Baptist Church has maintained its close-knit family atmosphere and its passion for serving people.
Pastor Bingham married the former Kristen Crow of Ennis, Texas in 2001. God has blessed them with four children, who love being with their Church family.

Rev. Travis Whitcher - Student Pastor
As a young man, Travis had the opportunity to ride on the vans of Hillside. Through the years, he grew in his faith, and followed God's leadership as He surrendered to minister to others. Travis has a real heart for serving the Lord in any area of ministry, and is grateful to be able to serve in the Youth ministry and minister to students and their families. He has attended Baptist Bible College of Springfield, MO, and Andersonville Theological Seminary with his Bachelors degree in Ministry. He is married to Megan, and they have two boys, Ryan and Ethan. They are a blessing to Hillside, and the student ministry. We invite you to get to know this family!
Jacob Mitchell - Children's Director
Jacob had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home in Republic, Missouri. He accepted Christ as his Savior on December 21st, 2005. As he grew up, he got to be involved at Hillside. He surrendered to the ministry during his senior year of high school. In the fall of the same year, he attended Heartland Baptist Bible College. Jacob married Kenzi in 2020. In April of 2023, God blessed them with a son, Warren, and in May, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Heartland. Since then, he has had the opportunity to serve the families of Hillside Baptist Church and the surrounding community. He has a passion to reach the next generation for Christ, and to help them grow to be committed followers of Him.

Rev. Cecil M. Tolbert - Pastor Emeritus
In 1983, God led Hillside Baptist Church to call Pastor Tolbert to be our pastor. It was God's man and in God's timing. Pastor Tolbert served faithfully for 35 and a half years as our pastor and shepherd. He led the church through four building programs, and the church grew from a small congregation of 40 to nearly 300. In September of 2019, we named Pastor Tolbert, Pastor Emeritus. We are thankful for He and Sister Shirley and their dedicaiton and sacrifices that they have personally made and how they have influenced the lives of people in our community for Christ!

Jennifer Mitchell serves as our secretary and helps keep the office of the church running smoothly.
